A.
At this time people had a lot of work to do to get little in return, most of the time they did not like their job either. For example, Mr. Garavelli Stonecutter was one of those with a very dangerous job, that got paid very little, he could have easily died at anytime but he was smart. Times were tough for everyone during this time, especially African Americans however, people like Jim Cole could not get a new job or promoted for the color of their skin no matter how good they were at doing their job. White people always got more and everyone suffered, but no one more than the African Americans. There always were some people like Clyde "Kingfish" Smith
however who did the best they could to help selling cheap fish, and trying to cheer people up singing along the way. This time was not good for anyone and people were scammed out of money and not always in the best of places, and example of this is Man at Eddie's Bar he was from Florida but moved to New York and saw these innocent people getting tricked such, he was not proud of what was happening in New York and he even say, he is a New York-er, but a New York-er ain't in him. Times were bad and people had to do what ever they could to get money like, Bernice Rent Party Hostess
who had to rent out her rooms to have enough money to pay for her apartment and survive. Times were rough and very hard, and these were the people who had to work through it.
